Our makeup expert had the chance to chat with many of the women that attended our opening party their need-to-know beauty questions. Here are the top 4 most common questions asked throughout the night:
Q. Should I be using blush or bronzer?
A. It is a matter of personal choice, really. I recommend a bronzer and blush combination to give a natural sun kissed glow. First, apply a sweep of bronzer, like ULTA’s Bronzer in Glow, onto the places the sun would naturally hit your face like your hairline, bridge of your nose, cheekbones, chin and jawline. Follow with a hint of a peach or rose hue like ULTA’s Cheek Color in Exposed or Adore, onto the apples of your cheeks to finish off the look. During the summer months, when you may not need bronzer, stick to wearing blush and apply it in the same areas as you would bronzer.
Q. What kind of moisturizer should I use if I have oily skin?
A. For day time, stick to an oil-free moisturizer with SPF like DDF’s Weightless Defense Oil-Free Hydrator UV Moisturizer with SPF 45. It is antioxidant enriched, and hydrates for eight continuous hours. For night time, choose a moisturizer like DDF’s Glycolic 10% Exfoliating Oil Control Gel, which helps control oil and inhibit blemishes while minimizing the look of fine lines and refining skin’s texture.
Q. What Kind of eye cream is the most effective for puffiness, wrinkles, and dark circles?
A. Try DDF’s Advanced Firming Eye Concentrate. It contains their break through Turmeric Complex, with glycerin and caffeine, that hydrates to firm for a lifted appearance and provides antioxidant protection to strengthen skin’s moisture barrier. Apply with a gentle massaging action to instantly reduce the appearance of puffiness and wrinkles for a more youthful eye contour.
Q. Should I be applying mascara to both my upper and lower lashes?
A. If you tend to not wear eyeliner, I suggest applying 1-2 coats of ULTA’s Show Stopper Lash Mascara in Jet Black or Black/Brown to your upper lashes. Next, lightly coat your bottom lashes with ULTA’s Lash Blowout Mascara in either Jet Black or Black/Brown. It’s got a small round applicator wand for those tiny, hard to reach lashes. If you do wear eyeliner, apply mascara to the upper lashes only. Your eyes will already be defined with the eyeliner, and there will be no need for application on your lower lashes.
