Love New York Event Tuesday, February 14th

Tuesday, February 14th in honor of Valentine’s Day we had our LOVE NEW YORK event, geared toward showing love to designers, bloggers, singers, writers, and editors from the heart of New York City. There was a great turnout, and everyone was dressed to impress! We had HPNOTIQ here keeping us hydrated with LOVE inspired cocktails, and cute cupcakes for our sweet tooth. TIBI Tonic was with us to make sure we had a big night, and a better morning. Jimmy Crystal brought on the bling, providing us with the ultimate back drop for romantic photos and such. ULTA represented for our beauty needs, and DDF was in circulation to keep our skin looking flawless.

We had designers ranging from Marti, Michelle Vale, Rae, Renee Masoomian, Walter, T. Tandon, Heather Lawton, Jewelry by Accessory Artists and Le’cneca by Satomi showcasing some of their new collections.  Rebecca Serle, author the forthcoming novel by Simon & Schuster When You Were Mine, did a reading from the book. Colin Smith, singer and songwriter, provided us with an acoustic performance of one of his new songs. Oxygen was here filming for their newest reality show, LA STYLE (from producers of Rachel Zoe, The Hills) with LA’s top stylists being introduced to New York Style.

The models were all prepped with our DDF Wrinkle-Resist Plus Pore Minimizer. For their makeup, we used the ULTA liquid eye liner and gave each a classic eye and red lip. The hair was classic as well, with a side bun and elegant finger wave sweeping across the forehead. It is a very simple style to achieve at home, with a little practice. I used my Babyliss PRO one inch curling iron on the bangs and brushed out the curls and placed them just right, across the forehead, and secured them with a bobby pin. We then slicked the rest back into a side bun.  They looked very chic and polished. Overall the event was a huge success, and we had a ton of fun. Check out the link below for more pics of what you may have missed.

Cocktails and Couture Party

The party was huge success. Everyone was having a good time, taking advantage of all of our fun freebies. We were able to connect with a lot of great bloggers, PR specialists and other fabulous people in the industry. We educated every guest on the importance of good skin care with our DDF representative here to answer any questions, and also to give readings from the new DermScope Skin Analyisis application.

Just to catch you up on what you may have missed. First up we had Adena Geiger from Examiner.com (nightlife events journalist). We gave her tight curls with our thin Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium thin flat iron that gave the Marilyn feel. She was very happy. Sherrie Woods, of Ghettofashionista.com, was also a fan of her gorgeous curls. Bea Asavajaru, and Ariana Moaveni from Weber Schandwick PR sat down to let us work our magic. They were into the look as well so we used my Babyliss Pro two inch barrel curling iron to give it a loose, not-so-done feel. Marinka from Mouthyhousewives.com got a chance to have her hair and makeup done and mentioned she wanted to look polished and fresh for the event. We wrapped small sections around, instead of inside the clip, of the Babyliss Pro two-inch curling iron which gave it a wild yet polished feel. Later I got to chat with miss Aly Walansky from Allytude.com, Alia Rajput, senior fashion editor from SecondCityStyle.com, and Alison Blackman, from Advicesisters.net, sat down for some primping. We smoothed their hair out with the Babyliss Pro Nano titanium blow dryer, and a round brush, and they were ready to party. Miss Tracy Brown, of Blingingbeauty.com, sat down for her turn in the chair of beauty. We gave her a nice wave with the one inch Babyliss Pro curling iron. Some of our other fabulous fashionistas that stopped by for some ULTA beauty makeovers and touch-ups, included Nisa Nejadi, and Maria Cruz of Lierac Paris, Dianna Jackson, of Blue Smoke Restaurant, Hillary Fry, and Naomi Gonzales, of SolEssence.com. They all loved the touch of sun that our ULTA Baked Bronzer provided, and the perfect gloss of the ULTA Hydro Shine Lip Gel. All in all we had a great turnout, and lots of fun. We hope to see you at one of our events in the future. We promise to WOW you.
